From the rugged Welsh coast to the shores of East England, 55 riders took on an epic journey — and what an achievement it was. The Cycle from Barmouth to Yarmouth, in support of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) community, has officially come to a close, and we’re still buzzing with pride.
Three days. 330 miles. Over £39,000 raised (including Gift Aid).
This wasn’t just a bike ride — it was a powerful display of grit, teamwork, and love for a cause that touches so many lives.
A Challenge to Remember
This ride pushed every cyclist to their limit — physically and mentally. With long days in the saddle, steep climbs, unpredictable weather, and aching legs, the road from Barmouth to Yarmouth tested us all. And yet, every single rider showed up with determination, heart, and an unbreakable sense of purpose.
Whether they were seasoned riders or total novices, everyone had one thing in common: a deep commitment to raising awareness and funds for those affected by MND.
Thank You to the Dream Team Behind It All
None of this would’ve been possible without an incredible group of people working tirelessly behind the scenes.
A massive thank you goes out to:
- Justin Middleton, whose wild idea kicked this whole thing off — and who poured countless hours into making it happen.
- Ian Jackson, Mikey Dixon, and Paul “Mad Dog” Williams, who helped plan, coordinate, and guide the event from start to finish.
- Steve Orme, for the amazing banners that brought colour and unity to the challenge.
- And to every single support driver, volunteer, and cheerleader along the route — you kept us going when the going got tough.
The Power of Community
There was a real sense of unity throughout the event — strangers became teammates, teammates became friends, and together we formed something truly special. The support on the roads, the messages from loved ones, and the generosity from donors created a wave of positivity that carried us all to the finish line.
This ride was dedicated to Davy and everyone living with MND — as well as those we’ve lost. It was about showing up, speaking out, and making progress.
What’s Next?
The Barmouth to Yarmouth cycle may be over, but the fight against MND continues. With over £39,000 raised, we’ve taken a huge step forward, and we’re not stopping here. The awareness, the funds, and the community we’ve built will continue to make a difference long after the final mile.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you to everyone who donated, supported, rode, volunteered, and believed in this cause.
We did something incredible together.
